Over 90 highly trained men and women
make up the EMS team. Whatever your needs, these dedicated people are here to serve you 24
hours a day, 7 days per week.
Three divisions make up The Medical
Center's EMS unit:
1. Basic Life Support Service
2. Advanced Life Support Service
3. Special Emergency Response Team (which includes dealing with
hazardous material, mass casualties, or any other unusual situation)
A quick response time is critical to
helping a patient with his or her medical needs. For this reason, The Medical Center has
EMS units strategically placed throughout the area. Substations also serve
the towns of Russellville, Lewisburg and Auburn. The Medical Center has
one of the largest emergency services in the state.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Special events need special
attention and the EMS team is prepared. A bicycle team of nine medics covers
events year round. The bicycle team is especially beneficial where large crowds
are gathered.
COMMUNITY SERVICE:
A childs fascination with an
ambulance is often mixed with curiosity and fear. The EMS staff spends countless hours at
local schools giving tours to students to let them better understand what an ambulance
looks like and what it does to help people.
TRAINING:
The Medical Centers EMS personnel
conduct education classes and seminars for many local groups. They provide continuing
education and training for EMTs, paramedics, and First Responders (including police
officers and firefighters). If you would be interested in emergency response training for
your group, contact the EMS office at 796-6524.
It is comforting to know that when you are in need, the
EMS staff is nearby and ready to help. We now invite you to take a tour of one
of our highly equipped ambulances. You can even find out how to become a paramedic or EMT
by clicking here.
