PREPARED CHILDBIRTH CLASS – OPTION I |
| |
This course covers information on preparing for labor and delivery. Breathing, relaxation, concentration, medication options and cesarean information are included. Breast is Best, Fatherhood 101, and Grandparents class are included in this series. |

PREPARED CHILDBIRTH CLASS – OPTION II |
| |
This one-night refresher Childbirth class will review labor, delivery, breathing and relaxation. It is designed for those who have taken a previous Childbirth series class. |

 |
PREPARED CHILDBIRTH CLASS – OPTION III |
| |
The 6-week Childbirth series is condensed and covered in one day. Snacks and drinks are provided. This fast paced, intensive filled day of information is for those unable to attend the 6-week series. Participants in this class will need to register for the Breast is Best, Fatherhood 101, and Grandparents class separately. |

NEWBORN CARE AND SAFETY |
| |
This is a “hands on” class where parents will be taught important baby care skills. An infant CPR demonstration will show parents what to do in an emergency. Safety issues for newborns will be discussed. (Bring a doll or stuffed animal to class. Dad can bring one too!) |

C-SECTION CLASS |
| |
This class offers a video and discussion on what to expect and how to prepare for returning home with baby after cesarean surgery. Those in the 6-week class do not need to register for this class. |

A NEW BABY'S COMING CLASS |
| |
This is a sibling’s class for ages 3 and above to prepare for the arrival of the new baby. A tour of postpartum and a view of the nursery are included with refreshments and a video. Register each sibling and their age. Each one should bring a doll or stuffed animal. |

BREAST IS BEST CLASS |
| |
Breast milk is more than perfect nutrition for your baby. How to breastfeed successfully, getting started, latching, and the important role of dad will be discussed. This class is for those who are not enrolled in the 6-week childbirth class. Bring a doll or stuffed animal to class. |

 |
GRANDPARENTS CLASS |
| |
On the sixth night the Childbirth 6- week series, expectant grandparents are invited to attend class with the expectant parents. A pediatrician will be at class to discuss newborns and answer questions about caring for your infant. A tour of the OB unit is included. |

FATHERHOOD
101 |
| |
This class is taught by George Miller, RN, a nursery nurse at The Medical Center. He will discuss concerns of new fathers with regard to responsibilities and relationship changes with baby and mom. George’s insight and suggestions will help Dad in his new role. For Men Only!! *This class will meet in The Medical Conference Room. |

TWINS OR MORE |
| |
This class will explore how to prepare for twins, triplets, or quads and will cover issues you will face that create a challenge for new Moms and Dads. Support networks will also be discussed. *This class will meet in The Medical Conference Room. |

NUTRITION DURING PREGNANCY CLASS |
| |
Eating smart is important during pregnancy. Learn about recommended weight gain and how to gain with healthy food choices. Learn which foods to avoid and which foods to increase in your diet for protein, calcium, iron and folic acids. A valuable class for your pregnancy! *This class will take place at The Medical Center Health & Wellness Center in Greenwood Mall. |

READY, SET, GO! CLASS |
| |
This class will guide you through the paperwork that is required when you are admitted to the hospital for delivery. By attending this class, your will be more prepared for your admission and discharge from the hospital. This class is recommended for all patients who plan to deliver at The Medical Center. A tour of the OB unit will also be provided. |

HOW DO
YOU SPELL RELIEF WHILE PREGNANT? |
| |
Conducted by a physical therapist, you will learn proper postural alignment, lifting, gentle stretching, strengthening, and relaxation to help with those aches and pains of labor. Finally, a relaxation session focused on you, to help you slow down and enjoy a few moments to yourself. This class is for Mom only! *This class is to meet the instructor in the main Lobby at The Medical Center at 6:00 PM. |

POST PARTUM CLASSES |

BREAST-FEEDING ASSISTANCE |
| |
During your hospital stay, the nursery nurses will be helping you get your breastfeeding off to a good start after delivery. Our lactation consultant will be visiting our breastfeeding moms on Mon.-Fri. We have lactation phone consultation available and outpatient consultation for problems that cannot be handled over the phone. |

INFANT CPR CLASSES |

Classes for Infant CPR are held weekly for parents that wish to attend. |

INFANT MASSAGE |
| |
Learn the ancient art of infant massage and your infant will receive benefits today. Infant massage enhances the parent/child bond as well as increases weight gain and neurological development. All you need to bring to class is your baby and a blanket. *This class will take place at The Medical Center Health & Wellness Center in Greenwood Mall. There is a $10 charge for the two class series. |
