A Letter from the Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at The Medical Center Bowling Green. This website describes our philosophy for your post graduate education and the structure and the content of the curriculum. I hope you find it helpful and informative.

The mission of The Medical Center Bowling Green’s Internal Medicine Residency Program is to provide outstanding graduate medical education which consistently produces skilled, competent and compassionate internists focused on delivering patient-centered, evidence-based, cost effective care. You will find that the faculty and hospital administration are dedicated to fulfilling The Medical Center’s mission of “caring for people and improving the quality of life in the communities we serve.”

The goal of our program is to produce professional, board certified osteopathic internal medicine physicians capable of providing competent, independent and professional health care services. Residents will receive training in the full breadth of internal medicine to serve rural communities, as well as independent learning skills to provide basic health care for patients anywhere in the country or around the world.

I invite you to explore the rest of our website and look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the next exciting phase of your professional career. Please do not hesitate to contact me or Beau Wilkins, Program Coordinator, in our Graduate Medical Education Office at 270-796-6540 if you have further questions.

Sincerely Yours,

Sam Hardcastle, M.D.
