Liver Cancer
This patient had a history of colon cancer. He
underwent a CT Scan at another facility which demonstrated an area of
decreased density in the liver. Cancer could not be ruled out. He was
subsequently referred for PET Scanning. The tracer showed increased uptake
in two areas of the liver, proving cancer recurrence. It also indicated a
normal sized lymph node had been invaded by the cancer cells. This patient
was subsequently referred to a liver cancer specialist for more aggressive
treatment.
