Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, The Medical Center Sleep Center is a specialty service designed
to diagnose all sleeping disorders. Under the direction of Walter Warren, M.D., The Medical Center Sleep Center is
able to diagnose breathing problems during sleep, movements that disturb sleep and also to evaluate for rare disorders causing
sleepiness during the daytime, such as narcolepsy.
We are staffed by certified and registered respiratory therapists and registered polysomnographic technologists. Our Medical Director is board certified
in Sleep Medicine and Neurology.
If you feel you have a sleep-related problem, contact your personal physician for a referral to an active
staff physician in the Sleep Center. Once referred, an appointment will be set up to develop your medical history and to perform
an exam for likely causes of sleep-related breathing disorders. It may be determined that a sleep study is needed. With this
procedure (called a polysomnogram), you will spend the night at the The Medical Center Sleep Center in Bowling Green or Scottsville.
A painless and detailed study will take place that monitors your sleep patterns, heart activity, breathing and muscle movements during
sleep.
If you are considering a consultation with The Medical Center's Sleep Center, we recommend you bring a
"sleep diary" to your initial interview with our physician. You'll find a sleep diary form suitable for printing at the
National Sleep Foundation website.
